Korean actor Song Joong-ki topped the male advertising model brand reputation index in August. The star of "The Battleship Island" and Descendants of the Sun" got a score of 1.75 million to take the No. 1 spot from "Goblin" star Gong Yoo who topped the same ranking in June.
In coming up with the list, the Korea Institute for Corporate Reputation analyzed 21.16 million pieces of big data of 50 male brand models from July 13 to Aug. 14, an increase of 84.55 percent compared to 11.46 million pieces of big data in June. The list is based on media, community, communication and participation indices.
Song Joong-ki's score surged by 116.38 percent compared to his score of 811,077 in June.
Gong Yoo placed second with 1.28 million, a huge decline of 51.82 percent from 2.66 million in June.
Actor Ji Chang Wook, who enlisted in the Korean military on Aug. 14, grabbed third place with a score of 1.22 million, a huge achievement as he was nowhere on the list in June.
"A Taxi Driver" and "Reply 1988" star Ryu Jun-yeol is fifth with 1.07 million followed by Park Seo-joon, star of the drama "Fight for My Way" and movie "Midnight Runners," with 1.06 million.
