Welcome to Hell: 1,000 zombies protest on the streets of Hamburg, Germany

A thousand zombies staged a performance protest in Hamburg on July 5, ahead of the G20 summit, to highlight what they feel the summit should be focused on. The 1000 Gestalten activist group gathered 1,000 people for the silent, eerie protest.The group dressed the zombies in grey from head to toe and for several days ahead of the beginning of the G20 summit, on July 7, the protesters have been popping up in small groups across the city. Their performance piece culminated in a large gathering on July 5, when organizers said 1,000 of them walked slowly through the city. The group says they have staged the protest because they want the G20 to stand for a more open, egalitarian society, rather than power in the hands of the few. Comfort women: Rare footage of Korean victims of Japans sex slavery during WW2 unveiled

The first-ever video footage of women presumed to be Koreans, who were victims of Japanese wartime sex slavery during World War II, has been unveiled after 73 years. Until now the wartime atrocities have only been documented in photographs and personal testimony. But now the footage of the victims has been discovered and released by the Seoul National University Human Rights Center via the Seoul Metropolitan Government on Wednesday (5 July). It was filmed in 1944 by an American soldier after the US-China allied forces captured the area from the Japanese military.From the early 1930s to the end of the Second World War, hundreds of thousands of women were forced into sexual slavery by the Japanese military. It was known to be one of the biggest cases of human trafficking in the 20th century. The tragedy remains a source of pain for the victims and still provokes diplomatic tensions between South Korea and Japan.  Jul 6, 2017

US ambassador to the United Nations, Nikki Haley, has said Washington is prepared to use military force to defend itself after North Korea successfully launched an intercontinental ballistic missile on Tuesday (4 July).One of our capabilities lies with our considerable military forces. We will use them if we must, but we prefer not to have to go in that direction, Haley told a UN Security Council meeting on Wednesday. She called on the international community to stay unified and cut off the major sources of hard currency flow to North Korea, and also restrict the flow of oil for the regimes military and weapons programs. Volition and Deep Silver have released a new trailer for upcoming open world action game Agents of Mayhem. Set to the theme tune to classic 80s TV series Magnum PI, the new look at the game lives up to its over-the-top nature. Set in the same world as Volitions beloved Saints Row series, Agents of Mayhem plays similarly, but with the ability to switch on the fly between three unique agents selected from a roster of 12 characters. Some of these characters appear in the trailer, including Saints Row favourite Johnny Gat, dressed up as Tom Selleks detective from Magnum PI. Gat will be available to those who pre-order the game. Nearly naked PETA activists fill the sky with blood in protest of bullfighting

Nearly 100 PETA and Anima Naturalis supporters gathered in the centre of Pamplona on July 5 ahead of the Running of the Bulls at the San Fermín festival which takes place from July 6-14. To highlight the cruelty of the event the chanting protesters simultaneously broke banderillas containing red powdered paint above their heads, covering themselves and filling the air around them with blood. PETA says that prior to the Running of the Bulls event, the bulls are purposely angered and tormented with electric prods and sharp sticks before they endure a slow and painful death in the events. Animals should be respected and protected, not chased by a crowd into an arena to be tormented, speared, and stabbed, says PETA Director Elisa Allen. Bullfighting has no place in a civilised society. PETA is calling on kind people around the world to reject this bloody spectacle, and wee urging Pamplona to join the more than 100 Spanish cities and towns that have banned it. Jul 5, 2017
