The US Navy has its first ever female SEAL candidate. The unnamed woman still faces Basic Underwater Demolition/SEAL training which is designed to be extremely mentally and physically demanding. This news comes a little over a year after the Pentagon declared women may fight in combat. According to the Navy, the enlisted SEAL attrition rate is about 74%. Wall Street financier Anthony Scaramucci is the new White House communications director. The position has been empty since the resignation of Mike Dubke in May. Scaramucci is a longtime supporter and major donor of Trump, and was a member on his transition team during the 2016 election. Known to his friends as Mooch, Scaramucci has made multiple TV appearances defending Trump during the election, after raising funds for Scott Walker and Jeb Bush during the primaries. Prior to joining Trumps team, Scaramucci was a hedge fund manager, and a longtime Republican party fundraiser. He was a self-proclaimed top fundraiser for Mitt Romney in 2012. Sean Spicer resigns as White House press secretary

White House press secretary Sean Spicer has resigned. Spicer reportedly stepped down after opposing the appointment of Anthony Scaramucci as the administrations new communications director. Musician plays guitar during his own brain surgery

Abhishek Prasad was filmed strumming on his guitar while undergoing a seven hour operation on his brain in Bengaluru, India on 20 July. Prasad suffered from involuntary spasms in his hand, a condition known as musicians dystonia. The doctor then asked him to play his guitar during surgery as a way of helping the surgeon identify problem areas. Chicago man spotted catching a ride on top of a bus like a boss

A man who apparently could not afford a ticket has been spotted riding on the top of a bus in Chicago. The video uploaded to Facebook on July 19, shows the man casually smoking a cigarette and waving at pedestrians while sat on the top of the moving bus. At least two dead after 6.7 magnitude earthquake hits tourist hotspots in Greece and Turkey

The US Geological Survey said at around 1.30am local time on Friday morning (21 July) a magnitude 6.7 quake struck 10km south of the Turkish city of Bodrum and 16km north-east of Kos, Greece, areas popular with British tourists. The European quake agency EMSC reported the prospect of a small tsunami.
