Video shows Myanmar pagoda collapse after heavy rainfall

A video shows the collapse of a Buddhist pagoda in Myanmar. Visitors gasped as they saw the structure slide into the Ayeyarwaddy River. The Thiri Yadana Pyilone Chantha Pagoda was destroyed around 4:30pm. According to officials, continuous heavy rain caused the river to rise. The water may then have weakened the base of the pagoda. Home Alone star John Heard dies aged 72

Actor John Heard has died at the age of 72. The cause of death is not yet known. Heard was best known for his role as Peter McCallister in the Home Alone franchise.He also starred in TV shows Prison Break, CSI: Miami and The Sopranos. His role in The Sopranos as detective Vin Makazian earned him an Emmy nomination. Heard is survived by two sons and one daughter. Jul 23, 2017

Hilarious video shows cows completely mesmerized by traditional Irish music

Who knew cows were fans of traditional Irish music? Musician Sharon Shannon found out when she played an impromptu concert for the animals. Some of the cows immediately stopped grazing as they heard Shannons button accordion. Others join in as the cows edged closer and closer to the musician. Bodycam video shows police officer shooting friendly dogs

Bodycam footage shows the moment a Minneapolis police officer shot and injured two dogs. The dogs were in the backyard when police responded to a home burglary.The dogs owners say the attending police officer did not knock on the front door before entering the backyard. The officer claimed he opened fire after the two pitbulls charged at him. Both CCTV footage of the owners and the bodycam video shows the dogs approaching cautiously friendly. The dogs are physician-prescribed emotional support animals for the sons of the owners suffering from anxiety. They are planning to take legal action against the police. Jul 22, 2017

Michael Jacksons chimpanzee becomes star of Miami art exhibition

Michael Jacksons former chimpanzee is making a splash in the art world. 34-year-old Bubbles and other apes living at a Florida rescue centre exhibited paintings at a Miami art gallery. The Center for Great Apes rehabilitates 48 orangutans and chimpanzees rescued from a life of forced performances. Painting is one of the activities used to stimulate the overly trained apes. Following the announcement of Minneapolis Police Chief Janee Harteaus resignation protesters called for Minneapolis mayor Betsy Hodges to step down as well. Harteau resigned after a police officer fatally shot 40-year-old Australian Justine Damond. Damond had called the police herself to report a possible sexual assault in her neighbourhood. At least 3 Israeli civilians killed and one injured in West Bank stabbing attack

Three Israelis were stabbed to death in a Jewish settlement in the West Bank. A fourth victim was wounded in the attack.The attacker was shot but his condition is unknown. US Navy has its first ever female SEAL candidate

The US Navy has its first ever female SEAL candidate. The unnamed woman still faces Basic Underwater Demolition/SEAL training which is designed to be extremely mentally and physically demanding. This news comes a little over a year after the Pentagon declared women may fight in combat. According to the Navy, the enlisted SEAL attrition rate is about 74%.
