Xiaomi has released the list of the third batch of smartphones that will receive the Beta version of the MIUI 9, the company's latest OS update. The company released the name of the compatible smartphones on its blog post.

The third batch of eligible devices are: Mi Note, Mi 4, Mi 3, Mi 2/2S, Mi Pad 3, Mi Pad 2, Mi Pad 1, Redmi Pro, Redmi Note 4X MTK, Redmi Note 4, Redmi 4A, Redmi 4 Prime, Redmi 4, Redmi 3S/3X, Redmi Note 3, Redmi Note 2, Redmi Note 4G, Redmi Note, Redmi 3, Redmi 2A, Redmi 2, Redmi 1S, Redmi 1.

While the first batch of smartphones getting MIUI 9 included Redmi Note 4, Note 4X and Mi 6, the second batch of compatible devices are Xiaomi Mi Note 2, Mi 5S Plus, Mi 5S, Mi 5, Redmi 4X, Redmi 4, Mi Max 2, Mi Max and the Mi Mix.

However, this is not the final version of the MIUI and the company is rolling out the ROM to more users in order to test the system across all its smartphone portfolio.

The features of MIUI 9 include Xiaomi's Smart Assistant, built-in Image Search, a new file system and many more. The new user interface's Smart Assistant, based on Android 7.0 Nougat, lets users search for images inside the gallery on the basis of names and locations, which is quite similar to what Google has for the Photos app. MIUI 9 also includes a Smart App Launcher. It can open apps based on the contents on the screen.

Also, Xiaomi has just launched the successor of Mi Mix, Mi Mix 2 in China on September 11, just one day ahead of Apple's 10th-anniversary special iPhone launch.

Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 comes in three variants. These include 6GB RAM/64GB storage, which costs CNY 3,299; 6GB RAM/128GB storage priced at CNY 35,999 and 6GB RAM/256GB storage, which carries a price tag of CNY 3,999.

The Chinese smartphone manufacturers also introduced a Special Edition of the smartphone priced at CNY 4,699. The Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 Special Edition comes with full ceramic unibody and 8GB RAM/128GB storage.
