Windows phone – we have not heard much about it in a long time, however, it's not dead yet. German firm TrekStor has unveiled its WinPhone 5.0, which is a mid-range mobile phone for enterprises and it runs on Windows 10 Mobile operating system.
The WinPhone 5.0, the latest iteration of TrekStor's WinPhone series, which was showcased at the IFA 2017 tech conference, features a 5-inch HD display and under its hood, packs in a Qualcomm's Snapdragon 617 chipset, which is compatible with Microsoft's Windows 10 Continuum feature, notes MSPoweruser. This Windows phone also carries a 3GB RAM, 16GB built-in storage, a microUSB port, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
The smartphone, however, is just a development project, as of now, informed TrekStor.
WindowsArea.de, a German Microsoft-focused news site first spotted the phone at the IFA 2017. The publication reported that WinPhone 5.0 also has a glass front and back with an aluminum frame, and speakers on the bottom.

Although the phone has not been launched yet, it is going to carry a price-tag under €300, or about $350, if and when it is released. WinPhone 5.0 is mainly aimed at enterprise organizations, such as BMW and Austrian Post in Europe, which are still stuck with old Windows Phone and Windows 10 Mobile run the device. They definitely need an upgrade and WinPhone 5.0 could be the one.
According to TrekStor this phone has been designed to show that a combination of Windows phone and wearable is possible and available in the short term if there is demand.
