BTS and Black Pink emerged as the most popular K-pop groups on microblogging site Tumblr for the summer of 2017.
Billboard released the list of the most popular K-pop stars including boy and girl bands, and solo acts for the period covering June 21 to September 22.
"With more than 90 million engagements with K-pop content annually, the platform's addicted K-population spoke loud about the boy bands, girl groups, solo acts and group members who owned an exciting and competitive summer of K-pop this year," Billboard wrote in an exclusive report.
BTS topped the boy band list followed by rival EXO, Seventeen, GOT7, Monsta X, Wanna One, B.A.P, NCT 127, SHINee and VIXX.

Among those in the top 10, Wanna One is the surprise entry as the group only debuted in August.
YG Entertainment's Black Pink reigned on top of the girl group category. They were followed by SM Entertainment's Red Velvet, Girls' Generation, TWICE, Mamamoo, f(x), GFriend, Pristin, Loona and Cosmic Girls.
