The new teaser of Red Velvet's mini album Rookie promises yet another interesting video and it is really rocking. The album includes 6 tracks and will be released on February 1. Recently, SXSW added the K-pop idol group to the 2017 lineup for the annual Korean music showcase.
"In the MV teaser, the Red Velvet members stand in place as a muppet calls the shots," AllKPop reported. In an another report by the same website, it stated that their comeback choreography will be energetic and electrifying. "On January 24, the girls participated in a 'V' live stream titled 'Red Velvet's Timeout! VICTORY episode 5'. During the stream, Yeri stated, "The choreography for our new song is very energetic!" To which Joy agreed and stated, "It will be the most energetic choreography for us," the report added.
Red Velvet is a five-member girl band formed by S.M. Entertainment. The band comprises Irene, Seulgi, Wendy, Joy, and Yeri. The group made their debut in 2014 with a digital single "Happiness." Since their debut, the group has received high recognition. Their first EP, Ice Cream Cake released in 2015, topped the Gaon Album Chart the group's first full-length album, The Red, topped various charts like Gaon and the Billboard World Albums Chart. "In Seoul's metropolitan area, Red Velvet clocked in a 10.7 percent viewership rating during their performance of "Russian Roulette," Soompi reported.
The group has garnered over 160,000 album sales and 3.7 million downloads according to Gaon, and won sixteen music show awards. In 2015, Joy was featured in the fourth season of reality show 'We Got Married,' starring opposite BtoB member Yook Sung-jae. And, she went on to win the New Star Award at the 2015 MBC Entertainment Awards.
