Pretty lass IU, who was busy with her back-to-back acting assignments, is all set to make a comeback, but this time with a new album. Her agency Loen-Fave Entertainment has confirmed that IU will be releasing her fourth studio album on April 21 and two pre-release tracks will be out on March 24 and April 7.
IU's last musical release was in 2015 with the mini-album "Chat-Shire." After almost a year and a half, the "Scarlet Heart Ryeo" actress is back and obviously, the expectations are sky high among fans. In a statement issued to the median, IU's agency stated, "IU is currently in the last stages of work. She hopes to show a variety of tracks that include collaborations with talented musicians. Please expect to see unique lyrics and experimental styles in her upcoming album," as translated by Soompi.
IU aka Lee Ji-eun has so far released three studio albums and nine extended plays, scoring two number-one albums and fourteen number-one singles on the Gaon Music Charts. Her Wikipedia page stated, "As one of the best-selling solo artists in the K-pop industry, which is dominated by boy and girl groups, she has been included on Forbes magazine's annual Korea Power Celebrity list since 2012, reaching a peak ranking of number three in 2012. Billboard recognized IU as the all-time leader of its Korea K-Pop Hot 100 chart with the most number-one songs and the artist who has held the number-one position for the most number of weeks."
Though IU has reached the pinnacle of success, her journey was never easy. After many ups and down, she came to the limelight with her album "Good Day" in 2010. Kpop stated, "Good Day stayed five consecutive weeks at the number one position on South Korea's Gaon Digital Chart. It also holds the record for having the most number of weeks at the top position along with Psy's Gangnam Style."
