The on-going JTBC drama, "Strong Woman Do Bong Soon" received a very good response from the viewers and the cast members are rewarded with continuously growing viewership ratings. In a recent press conference, on March 17, the cast and crew of JTBC's "Strong Woman Do Bong Soon" talked about the drama's growing popularity and their reaction to it.
According to a Soompi report, Strong Woman Do Bong Soon's lead actor Park Hyung Sik stated, "At a company dinner, we talked about the estimations for ratings with the cast and the crew, so I said 3 percent. But after the first episode aired, I checked the ratings and my eyes shot open. When I got on set, everyone was happy. We reminded ourselves not to get carried away and to continue working hard."
The romantic comedy-drama with an entertaining storyline and intentions to bring gender equality into light grabbed the viewers' attention. The story mainly revolves around a woman which is played by Park Bo Young who is extremely strong. In fact, she is so strong that she accidentally breaks everything she touches.
In the press conference, the lead actress of the drama Park Bo Young revealed how it felt like to be part of the successful drama stating, "Everyone has been feeling good on set and we've been filming well. We will work hard in the future as well."
The other main actor of the drama is Ji Soo who plays the role of In Gook Doo. He is Bo Young's character's beloved childhood friend and she has a huge crush on him. The actor Ji Soo too revealed about his experience on the set stating, "Lately I've been enjoying filming and learning a lot. It's an honour to be able to work with a great production team and experienced actors."
The drama has been highly praised by the critics as well. As reportedly, the culture critic Jung Duk Hyun said, "The real message the drama wants to deliver will be by showing how Do realizes her special abilities are nothing to hide but a gift and she comes to love herself."
Duk Hyun further added: "In order to do so, the drama will take up the task of breaking discrimination and prejudice about gender roles in this society. The drama will ultimately ask the society what's wrong with a strong woman."
