Choa Chu Kang town in Singapore on Tuesday, October 17, witnessed an incident that could have been a terrible one. A 65-year old man miraculously escaped when a forklift plunged into his car.
As per reports, the impact was heavy. Photos published by Shin Min Daily News clearly show the forklift piercing through the car, ramming into the driver's seat.
The police responded swiftly to the accident. Around 2:37 pm they retorted to the incident along Choa Chu Kang Way towards Sungei Kadut Drive. The elderly man, fortunately, was alone in the car and suffered minor injuries. He escaped on his own after the forklift hit straight into his car. He was conscious when he was taken to Ng Teng Fong General Hospital.
Police investigation is still on as they are unclear as to what caused the forklift to run into the car. Following reports from the Straits Times, the forklift was apparently being driven with the aim to lift a lorry outside an army camp. However, as the car was running in the middle of the lane, the forklift accidentally hit the car, causing all the ruckus. The driver of the forklift is said to have lost control. The probe is still on.
Singapore's New Upper Changi Road too witnessed an e-bike accident just a day before the forklift ramming into the car incident, on Wednesday, October 18. The victim once again was an elderly man. As per reports the man suffered severe head injuries and was rushed to the hospital.
