A 30-year-old man was injured in a three-vehicle accident after his right foot stuck in his motorcycle's footrest on Thursday morning. The accident involving his own motorcycle, a car and a bus caused a massive traffic jam along Loyang Avenue.
According to reports, the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) personnel had to use hydraulic rescue tools to free him from the condition. The reports added that the man suffered a swollen ankle and burns on his leg from the motorcycle's exhaust pipe.
An SCDF spokesman told The Straits Times that it was informed about the accident along Loyang Avenue towards Changi Village at about 8.15am. He added that the injured man was taken to the Changi General Hospital for medical treatment.
Several photos that were posted on Twitter by a motorist showed an ambulance, a Red Rhino and fire bikes near the scene of the incident.
At 8.53am, the Land Transport Authority (LTA) first tweeted about the accident. Following the first tweet, LTA tweeted again and warned the motorists of congestion near the Cranwell Road and Loyang Avenue traffic junction.
