At least seven people were injured in an accident involving 12 cars along the Kallang-Paya Lebar Expressway (KPE) towards East Coast Parkway in Singapore on Friday morning. The Singapore Civil Defence Force said that five people were sent to the Singapore General Hospital, while two were sent to Raffles Hospital.
According to reports, the chain collision that took place before the Tampines Road involved nine cars and three taxis. The collision caused a traffic tailback on the expressway of at least 1km to Buangkok.
The Singapore Civil Defence Force told Channel NewsAsia that it was informed about the accident at about 9.45 am and immediately three ambulances were dispatched to the scene.

The Land Transport Authority (LTA) tweeted at around 9.38 am alerting the motorists to avoid Lane 1 before the Tampines Road exit. The police said that the investigations are ongoing.
