Residents at New Upper Changi Road woke up to an unfortunate incident involving a serious injury of an elderly man, hit by a car.
A 62-year old man in Singapore was rushed to the hospital after he was hit by a car along New Upper Changi Road, early morning on Wednesday, October 18.
The elderly man was crossing the traffic junction near Bedok North Avenue 3 when a black Toyota ran into him. The man was on an e-bicycle. Investigations are still on to confirm who is to be blamed for the accident.
A Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) spokesman told Straits Times that the accident took place around 7:53 am and they were made aware of the same soon after the accident occurred. An ambulance was rushed to the scene immediately.
The man was taken to Changi General Hospital. The hospital authorities were asked to be on standby when receiving him.
Lawrence Acero, a 35-year old CAD (computer-assisted-design) designer told Straits Times the horrific aftermath of the incident that he had witnessed, early in the morning, while he was cycling with his friend at 8:12 am.
"The victim's e-bike was broken into two and the car's front windscreen was shattered," he stated.
The elderly man suffered severe head injuries as per reports. Police investigation is being conducted on the same.
