The worst fear of Ed Sheeran's fans has come true, as the talented singer himself confirmed that he will not be in a position to perform live shows in the near future following a bike accident which resulted in fractures on his right wrist and left elbow.
Disappointing news for Ed Sheeran fans
On his Instagram, Sheeran posted a photo of his fractured wrist and captioned it, "A visit to my doctors confirmed fractures in my right wrist and left elbow that will leave me unable to perform live concerts for the immediate future,".
Ed Sheeran added that his upcoming shows scheduled in Taipei, Osaka, Seoul, Tokyo, and Hong Kong will not go ahead as planned. The Instagram post also made it clear that it was not typed by Sheeran, as his both arms are bandaged.
"I'm waiting to see how the healing progresses before we have to decide on shows beyond that. Please stay tuned for more details. PS - Ed isn't typing this as he has both arms casted/bandaged," read the Instagram post.
Ed Sheeran is due to perform in five shows in New Zealand on March 2018. We should wait and see to know whether he will be able to perform in these shows.
Accidents not new for Ed Sheeran
Accidents are now becoming a part of Sheeran's life, as this is for the second time that the Grammy Award winner is getting hospitalized in the past 12 months. Earlier, on January 2017, Ed Sheeran indirectly hinted that Princess Beatrice has accidentally slashed on his face. Sheeran refused to reveal more details as he believed the revelation will result in the wrath of the royal family.
"For two weeks after, I had a huge gash on my face and would tell people I fell and then suddenly, the story came out," told Sheeran to BBC when asked about the accidental slash on his face.
According to some reports, this incident happened in November 2016 when Princess Beatrice accidentally swung the ceremonial sword which slashed Sheeran's face, just inches below his right eye.
