Stand-up comedian Sean Hughes dies aged 51

Sean Hughes, the Perrier Award-winning stand-up best known for his appearances on Never Mind the Buzzcocks and his own sitcom Seans Show, has died aged 51. At least 4 killed in Ivory Coast plane crash

At least four people were killed on Saturday (October 14) when a propeller-engine cargo plane crashed into the sea near Ivory Coasts main city Abidjan, according to Reuters news agency. Amateur footage shows firefighters and rescue divers removing two bodies from the plane, which had broken into several pieces and come to rest near the beach. Two other bodies were visible in the wreckage. The crash occurred during a storm with heavy rain and lightning and rescuers were hampered by rough seas. Oct 14, 2017

Mid-air technical snag forces Etihad flight with 349 people on board to make emergency landing

An Etihad Airways flight en route to Sydney from Abu Dhabi was diverted to Adelaide following a warning indication in the cockpit early on Saturday (14 October).The plane made an emergency landing in Adelaide at 5am local time on Saturday (7pm BST Friday), and the 349 passengers and crew on board the flight were made to leave via the planes emergency exits. London police release footage of jailed serial thief stealing from a tourist

A Chilean man was jailed at Isleworth Crown Court on Thursday (12 October) after being found guilty of 11 separate counts of theft at various locations in London. The Metropolitan Police believed that Emilio Guerrero-Sepulveda made two separate trips to the British capital in order specifically to steal tourists money. The highest value item recovered from Guerrero-Sepulveda was a camera valued at £8,800 taken from Selfridges earlier this year.
