Wildfires ripped through the Napa Valley, forcing officials to order residents to evacuate. One of the largest fires in Santa Rosa has torched 20,000 acres and forced the closure of all public schools in Santa Rosa and Calistoga. The National Weather Service issued a red flag warning for the Bay area and most of Southern California. Suspicious van driver offers doughnuts to three little girls

Police are investigating after a van driver in Manchester appeared to attempt to lure three young children to his van by offering them doughnuts. CCTV footage of the incident was posted onto Facebook on 7 October by the mother of the girls, Rechelle Marcia Haigh, where it has been viewed over 490,000 times. She wrote in the post, When I approached this man he acted weird and asked me if my kids wanted some doughnuts then drove off when I stepped out the house. Oct 9, 2017

Rick and Morty fans have been left disappointed after McDonalds did not supply enough of their Szechuan sauce to various chains across the U.S.. The sauce, which was originally released in 1998 alongside the Disney film Mulan, was heavily referenced in the latest season of the show, and has gained a cult following online since. McDonalds then announced a limited edition return of the sauce, causing people to flood to various chains on Saturday (7 October). Shocking video shows Miami Dolphins coach Chris Foerster snorting white powder

The video was reportedly sent by Foerster to Kijuana Nige, who then posted the clip on Facebook. In the video, Miami Dolphins offensive line coach Chris Foerster can be seen snorting three white lines before going to a meeting, and reminiscing about previous times he had taken the drugs. 29-year-old Rueben Galindo was shot dead by officers in Charlotte, North Carolina, on 6 October, after he called police for assistance. Thousands of people marched for Spanish unity in Barcelona, Spain, on 8 October. The rally was held one week after a disputed referendum for Catalan independence, after which Catalan President Carles Puigdemont vowed to declare independence within days. The march, which was organized by Societat Civil Catalana (SCC), a group opposed to Catalan independence, took place 24 hours after massive demonstrations calling for dialogue and unity.
