Sgt Bergdahl walked off his military post in Afghanistan in 2009, in what he says was a protest to prove that his commanders were unfit for service. A Taliban suicide bomber and gunmen attacked a provincial Afghan police headquarters on Oct. 17, killing at least 33 people and wounding 160. Reckless swimmer ignores warnings to stay inside during storm Ophelia

Footage has been released showing a swimmer braving the choppy waters off the coast of Ireland, whilst Storm Ophelia batters the country.The reckless behavior in Salthill, County Galway, happened despite numerous warnings telling people to stay indoors. Ophelia, which was a category three hurricane before being downgraded to a storm, hit the south-western area of Ireland on Oct. 16. Sessions stumps critics by sending top DOJ lawyer to help LGBTQ murder case

Attorney General Jeff Sessions has unexpectedly assigned a top federal hate crimes lawyer to prosecute a man on trial for the shooting death of gender-fluid teen Kedarie Johnson. Johnson, 16, was killed in an alley in Burlington, Iowa, in March 2016. Jorge Sanders-Galvez, 23, has been charged with first-degree murder in Johnsons death. Johnson identified as both male and female and sometimes went by the name Kandicee. Sessions, a staunch conservative, is known for battling against LGBTQ rights. Oct 17, 2017

And while the US supports both groups mission to eradicate Isis in the Middle East, Kurdish military officials claimed Iran-backed militias armed with US equipment took part in the attack.
