Northern Ireland Water released a video on June 26 showing its staff working to clear a gigantic fatberg of fat, oil and grease from a sewer on the Dublin Road in Belfast.According to the Belfast Telegraph, staff have been at work for the past six Sundays to clear the blockage. Jun 26, 2017

Demonstrators face off with police over Edir Frederico Da Costa death

Six police officers have been injured as demonstrators clashed with police on Sunday night (June 25) after the death of Edir Frederico Da Costa, just days after he was stopped by police. Campaigners allege that Da Costa, known as Edson, suffered a cruel and brutal beating on Thursday 15 June after being stopped by Met police. A Go Fund Me account described how Da Costa had suffered a broken neck and head injuries though the Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) has disputed this. In a statement on Friday (23 June), Newham Borough commander chief superintendent, Ian Larnder, said Da Costa became unwell and was subsequently taken to hospital as he was being detained.  Jun 26, 2017

Six people are dead and 31 still missing after a tourist boat carrying around 170 people sank in Colombias Penol-Guatape reservoir on Sunday during the long holiday weekend. Five Camden Council Estate Tower Blocks Evacuated Amid Fire Safety Concerns

Residents in five towers on the Chalcots estate are to be moved amid safety concerns after it was found that the blocks used cladding similar to that on the Grenfell Tower. While Camden Council had initially announced the evacuation of one tower block, Taplow, this was later extended to include all five tower blocks after safety checks were carried out by the London Fire Brigade. Watch clever fire ants form a raft during floods in Texas

This video from Galveston Island, Texas, on June 21 shows a colony of fire ants clumping together to create a living raft in the floodwaters brought on by Tropical Storm Cindy as it drew closer to landfall. When faced with an influx of water to their colony, fire ants will gather together to protect the most vulnerable in their ranks and create a living raft until they find dry land.
