Apple is rumoured to add a new 5in iPhone variant to its upcoming flagship series alongside a larger 5.5in as well as the smaller 4.7in model. According to Mac Otakara quoting reliable sources from Taiwan, only the top end version with an all-glass design will be featuring the wireless charging capability contrary to earlier rumours suggesting all three iPhone variants to include this feature.
It is further reported that the iPhone will support Qi wireless charging standard instead of the long-range alternative from Energous. The company is also expected to drop wireless charger and Lightning to 3.5mm adapter from its free accessories bundle with the iPhone purchase and instead offer them as paid options.
There have been numerous such rumours in the past which have had very little success in terms of implementation and it will not be any different this time.
Among other rumoured features, the iPhone 8 is expected to include flexible OLED display and pressure-sensitive 3D Touch alongside improved IP68 water resistance.
