YG Entertainment finally shot down rumors that Big Bang member G-Dragon and actress Jooyeon, former member of Korean girl group 'After School', are dating.
Talks began to surface that the two were in a relationship after they appeared together in online videos and photos.
But instead of denying it, YG Entertainment said, "It's his private life, so we cannot say anything," a statement that further fueled speculations about the relationship.
"We did not hear anything related to her relationships from her. It is her private life, so we do not have anything to say as a label," Better Ent agency said.
Netizens quickly concluded that since YG Entertainment did not deny it, it was true.
"If YG says they can't comment because it's his private life, that means they're dating," posted one Korean netizen, according to Netizen Buzz.
Another wrote, "When something's true, YG never says it's true, they either don't comment on it or just say it's a private matter and if something isn't true, they immediately respond with a hard no. Just look at their response to Black Pink Jennie's rumors not too long ago."
"When he had dating rumors with Sulli, YG put that down so fast... seeing as how they aren't denying it this time must be true. It's not like he's a little kid anymore so I hope they're happy together," said another netizen.
As the rumors persisted, YG Entertainment issued a statement to deny that G-Dragon and Jooyeon are in a romantic relationship.
"They know each other as colleagues. The photos in question were shot while they were hanging out together with many others after a concert in Hawaii," said the agency on Thursday.
G-Dragon has been linked to many celebrities in the past including Japanese actress Nana Komatsu. Photos of the two together were uploaded online after G-Dragon's Instagram was hacked in September.
