A Seoul court has acquitted a woman who was sued for wrongful accusation against Korean boy band JYJ member Park Yoochun.
Surnamed Song, she was the second woman who accused Yoochun of sexual assault in December 2015, according to the Korea Herald.
Yoochun was cleared of all four sexual assault charges that were lodged against him last year.
In its decision about Song, the court said, "It is difficult to ascertain that the defendant brought a suit against (Park) based on false facts, or that she damaged his reputation. It is a case where there is no evidence of the criminal counts charged.
In addition, Song was also sued for defamation for a media interview regarding Yoochun.
The prosecution asked the court to sentence Song to three years of imprisonment, saying that the "evidence shows that Song agreed to sexual relations with the condition of monetary compensation."
In August last year, prosecutors indicted a woman surnamed Lee for false accusation and attempted blackmail.
The prosecution said Lee tried to extort money from Yoochun after having sex with him and threatened that she would go public and accuse him of rape.
Last January, a court convicted Lee and sentenced her to two years of imprisonment.
"It was found that Lee kept dancing with Park's party even after she came back from the restroom -- where she argued to be raped -- and she talked and laughed with waiters after the party left the bar," according to the court.
In addition, the court also found Lee's cousin guilty of attempted extortion and sentenced him to two and a half years in jail. Her boyfriend was also sentenced to one and a half years in prison.
The three collaborated to work against Yoochun.
"Based on the circumstances of the threat, the details of the case and the requested amount, the case is very serious," according to the court.
Lee accused Yoochun of raping her inside a restroom of a bar where she was an employee. She later withdrew her complaint.
