Scientists have warned that 2018 will witness an increase in seismic activities, thus resulting in massive devastation all across the globe. According to experts, the earth's rotation is slowing down, which will cause intense seismic activity, especially in tropical areas which are heavily populated.

The warnings from experts came just days after a strong earthquake measuring 7.3 on the Richter scale hit the Iran-Iraq border resulting in the death of more than 530 people. On last September, another massive quake measuring 7.1 had hit Mexico, and 370 people perished in its aftermath.

Earth's rotation slowing down

Earlier this month, Roger Bilham of the University of Colorado in Boulder and Rebecca Bendick of the University of Montana highlighted the link between the Earth's rotation and its impact on seismic activities. The researchers found that the relation between Earth's rotation and earthquake activities is very strong, which indicates that the world will witness more intense earthquakes in 2018. Before making this conclusion, Roger Bilham, and Rebecca Bendick studies the pattern of quakes hitting at above seven on the Richter scale since 1990.

"The correlation between Earth's rotation and earthquake activity is strong and suggests there is going to be an increase in numbers of intense earthquakes next year," told Roger Bilham to the Observer.

In the study, the researchers found that the number of seismic activities had drastically increased when Earth's rotation gets slow down. According to the researchers, more than 25-30 intense earthquakes will happen when earth slows down, while the average figure is around 15 quakes a year.

"The inference is clear. Next year we should see a significant increase in numbers of severe earthquakes. We have had it easy this year. So far we have only had about six severe earthquakes. We could easily have 20 a year starting in 2018," told Roger Bilham to the Observer.

Scientists are not pretty clear about the factors which disrupt the earth's core when the planet's rotation is slowing down. Even though unclear about the exact reason, experts speculate that the slight changes in the behaviour of the planet are the reason behind the destabilization of the earth's core.

Conspiracy theorists have something different to say

Conspiracy theorists believe that it is the close approach of Nibiru which is resulting in the increased number of seismic activities. Earlier, Nibiru researcher David Meade has revealed that the world is going through days of the apocalypse, and the Armageddon has already been triggered on October 15. According to Meade, the world is now going through the seven-year tribulation period where we will witness natural disasters like devastating earthquakes, tsunamis, and volcanic eruptions.
