'Running Man' member Lee Kwang-soo just can't seem to get over the marriage announcement of his best friend Song Joong-ki to Song Hye-kyo, it seems. After his earlier Instagram post became viral, Lee Kwang-soo's text top Song Joong-ki has now been revealed by the latter.
As noted by website Soompi, Song Joong-ki sat down for an interview about his upcoming movie 'The Battleship Island,' where the subject of his October 31 marriage with Song Hye-kyo was inevitably discussed.
Song Joong-ki said that the day before the interview, Lee Kwang-soo had texted him saying, "I can't believe you're getting married." Song Joong-ki added, "He seemed to be tipsy. Some people can't believe it. I guess it hasn't hit them yet. The most common reaction I get from people is 'Congratulations.'"
On July 5, Lee Kwang-soo posted a photo on his Instagram page which showed Song Joong-ki in his military costume from the sets of 'Descendants of the Sun,' writing on a piece of white rock, "Joong Ki ♥ Kwang Soo (Asian prince) 2015.10.14." Kwang-soo's caption to the photo was directed to Joong-ki and said, "What was all this, then?" as per Koreaboo's translation.
Of course the post was made as a joke. However, it didn't stop his 'Running Man' buddies from making fun of Kwang-soo. While Ji Suk-jin replied "You were just a fling," Kim Jong-kook said, "You just have one more person you must serve now, Kwang Soo... don't be so shocked..," suggesting that Kwang-soo will have to serve the interests of both Song Joong-ki and Song Hye-kyo now.
Song Joong-ki also revealed how much it takes to get used to the idea of getting married, beginning with an unending number of "congratulations" from many people. He said: "Married people often say that [when you're engaged,] the marriage doesn't feel real until the day of the wedding. It's the same for us."
"It hit me when I was walking here from the parking lot and people said to me, 'Congratulations.' I went to the sauna this morning, and the lady who works there also said, 'Congratulations.' When fans or other people congratulate me with a smiling face, I'm filled with an emotion greater than gratitude. It makes me think that I should live a happy [married] life,' Joong-ki said.
As for choosing to announce their marriage plans, Song Joong-ki said, "I wanted to announce it after the premiere of 'The Battleship Island,' but things don't work out the way you want them to. After thinking about it for a while, I told Song Hye Kyo that we should announce it. I feel apologetic about the spotlight being on me ahead of the [movie's] premiere, but marriage is an important matter."
There were many rumours such as Song Hye-kyo being pregnant, that drove them to announce their marriage without waiting much longer. "There were many groundless rumors about Song Hye Kyo and me, and we were upset about that. That's why we decided that we should reveal it. That day, both of our hearts were beating quickly," the 'Descendants of the Sun' actor said.
'The Battleship Island' will release on July 26, this year.
