Big Bang's T.O.P, who was reportedly close to dying yesterday, has finally opened his eyes on the third day, the singer's overjoyed mother confirmed.

As reported by Koreaboo and others, singer Choi Seung-hyun's mother told reporters at 1.45 p.m. after finishing her visitation, "My son's condition has improved a lot. I had eye contact with my son." She was also in a hurry but revealed on being asked that her son did recognize her.

In the morning of June 6, T.O.P was found unconscious and was rushed to Ewha Woman's University Mokdong Hospital, suspected of drug overdose. Around 5 p.m. KST, he was moved to the Intensive Care Unit from the Emergency room (ER).

As noted by Koreaboo, the doctors have stated they hope T.O.P's condition will improve soon. Professors Lee Deok-hee, Kim Yong-jae, and Choi Hee-yeon said, "Although we cannot guarantee how long it will take [for T.O.P] to recover, on average, a healthy person who does not have any other illnesses takes around a week or two to recover."

An acquaintance of the singer had told news outlet Osen at that time that T.O.P was going through a lot of stress after being accused of smoking Marijuna and his successive police duty. All of this had caused him to break down. Of course, the tests came out positive following a hair follicle test. T.O.P was dismissed from his military service after discovery of his Marijuana use, which is illegal in South Korea.

As for his drug overdose, his agency, YG Entertainment revealed that the singer and actor normally took prescription tranquilizers for battling anxiety but as per the police, he had a taken a lot more than usual and though not unconscious, was sweating and unable to wake up, as noted by Soompi.

YG Entertainment, notes Soompi, has released an official apology which read, "We bow our heads and sincerely apologize to those who were hurt and disappointed by the recent chain of shameful events surrounding T.O.P. He is holding himself accountable for the controversy and will receive any and all reprehension for falling short of everyone's expectations with a heavy heart."

The agency said they would take steps to ensure that such problems do not arise in the future and added, "As was already stated in the official briefing by the medical team, T.O.P was brought to the hospital after he was found in between a state of deep sleep and semi consciousness in the dorm of his platoon headquarters. He is currently in the intensive care unit receiving treatment for the third day in a row. We are praying for his speedy recovery."
