The World Music Awards has been announced and boy band BTS is the only Korean band to be featured on the top-selling album list. World Music Awards published the winner's name on their official Facebook page. The rating was based on the sales between Jan-March 2017.
Ed Sheeran's 'Divide' topped the list after selling a massive 476,000 equivalent units, 355,000 of it in pure sales. The statement added, "The Album has already reached a total of 3,626,000 consumption sales, including 2,822,000 pure sales. 'Divide's biggest sales are still in United Kingdom (197,200 copies), followed by the United States (98,000 units), Germany (30,000), Canada (17,000), and Australia (14,900)."
BTS' 'Wings: You Never Walk Alone' grabbed the 14th spot with sales of 565,000 copies. The Wings album was selected as the "Best Kpop Album of 2016" by Billboard and won "Record of the Year" at the 2017 Seoul Music Awards. According to Wikipedia, "The album was re-released under the title You Never Walk Alone on February 13, 2017, with additional and expanded tracks. Overall, the album went on to sell more than 1.9 million copies worldwide. This is BTS's first album going platinum, officially earning them the title as Million Sellers"
