Having had an early start on August 30, with an impressive above 10 percent ratings no less, MBC drama 'Hospital Ship' had a big advantage over SBS's 'While You Were Sleeping.' The latter premiered on September 27, with over 7 percent viewership ratings. 'Hospital Ship' has had an edge over the SBS drama till October 5, when the Lee Jong-suk and Suzy starrer overtook it in ratings.
As noted by website Soompi, SBS drama 'While You Were Sleeping' grabbed the top drama spot in its time slot as AGB Nielsen Korea published the ratings numbers on October 6. The latest episode of 'While You Were Sleeping,' titled 'A Few Good Men,' which aired on October 5, recorded 7.9 percent and 8.9 percent viewership ratings across all South Korea. On the other hand, 'Hospital Ship' had secured 7.1 and 8.3 percent on the same date and time slot.

This is the very first time that fantasy-romance drama starring Lee Jong-suk and Suzy Bae had beaten the Ha Ji-won starring 'Hospital Ship' in the ratings game. The October 5 episode also featured a kiss between the lead pairs of the SBS drama, in a dream sequence. So the kiss, coupled with the beautiful visuals in Korean dramas must have pushed a section of viewers towards the more recent drama. Now it needs to be seen whether 'While You Were Sleeping' can maintain the top spot for the coming episodes.
Meanwhile, it was revealed that Singer Roy Kim will be performing a track for 'While You Were Sleeping.' On October 5 at 6 p.m. KST, the team behind the SBS drama released the audio of Kim's song titled "It'd Be Good." The title is a literal translation from Korean. The official music video for the track will be released on October 9. The video will feature montages of emotional scenes between Suzy Bae and Lee Jong-suk.
This isn't exactly the first time that the song will be heard. It was used partially in the teaser videos that were released before the drama premiered. A source said, "Despite the long hours of recording, Roy Kim did his best to create a song of the highest quality. He was able to express Jae Chan's emotions in his own style."
The next episodes of 'While You Were Sleeping' and 'Hospital Ship' will air on October 11 at 10.00 p.m. KST, on SBS and MBC.
