Red Velvet's Wendy received a president award while she was in school. The girl group member revealed that US President, Barack Obama, presented her with a reward for doing exceptionally well in the middle school.

The 22-year-old idol was a guest on tvN's Problematic Men and shared her little secret with fans. She said: "From 5th grade until 12th grade, I lived in USA and Canada. I got an award from Obama in middle school. Back then, I didn't know it was the President's Award." The Spring Love singer also revealed her love for Math and how she bagged titles.

The Seoul-born singer reportedly moved to Canada to study abroad under her English name, Wendy Shon. She enrolled in Shattuck-Saint Mary's, where she was an honor student and athlete. The girl apparently received quite many awards for her academics and music-related activities.

Wendy further added that her desire to study in the USA grew after her sister moved there. She said: "My older sister, who is two years older than me, went to study in the USA before I did. She looked so happy, so I wanted to go, too."

Meanwhile, as per Allkpop, fellow SM label artists YoonA, Suho and Heechul also backed Wendy's incredible intelligence and smartness through a video message on the show. While all instantly gave their agreement on Wendy's skill, Heechul added: "In SM, her smarts is top-class."
