Malik Stream Corporation has acquired the "Kabali" rights for Rs. 10 crore and the distributor is hoping to recover the invested amount by the first weekend itself. Rajinikanth's "Enthiran" holds the record of highest grossing Tamil movie in Malaysia by raking in Rs. 20.47 crore in its lifetime.

It has to be noted that the dubbed Malay version will be released a week later in Malaysia while the Tamil version will hit the screens on July 22.

"Kabali" is made with the budget of Rs. 100 crore and the movie has done a pre-release business of Rs. 225 crore from the sale of theatrical and other rights. The makers are expecting the Tamil movie to gross above Rs. 500 crore worldwide.

The response for the advance booking gives an indication of "Kabali" doing roaring business in the first weekend. But in order to break records and set new benchmarks at the box office, it has to perform consistently well for at least 10 days in theatres.

"Kabali" is written and directed by Pa Ranjith. It is produced by Kalaippuli S Thanu. Radhika Apte, Dhansika, Kishore and many others are in the cast.
