Indian skipper Virat Kohli and his longterm ladylove, Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma confirmed their marriage on Monday, Dec. 11. The couple tied the nuptial knot in a typical Punjabi style at Borgo Finocchetio, a luxury villa in Tuscany, Italy.
In the recent past, speculations have been mounting up regarding Virat and Anushka's marriage and it reached its peak when the 'Sultan' actress was spotted with her family and family priest at the Mumbai international airport.
The social media got flooded with the 'Cinema meets Cricket' jodi's marriage pictures and videos. "Today we have promised each other to be bound in love forever. We are truly blessed to share the news with you," Sharma and Kohli said on Twitter, posting pictures of the wedding ceremony.

"This beautiful day will be made more special with the love and support of our family of fans and well-wishers. Thank you for being such an important part of our journey," they said in identical Tweets.
The newly-wed couple, who met during a commercial shoot in 2013, will be having a reception on Dec. 21 in New Delhi. In addition to this, Virat Kohli has also arranged for a grand reception in Mumbai on December 26, just two days after Sri Lanka's tour of India.
Although the religious ceremony has been performed, the lovebirds are expected to register their marriage at Mumbai's Bandra family court in early January. The Bollywood actress-producer was allegedly spotted at the Bandra Family Court to collect marriage registration papers and was accompanied by her lawyer as well.
According to reports, Anushka is believed to have taken forms for four dates, including December 12, 18, 21 and January 5, when the couple could register their marriage.
Thus, if the celebrity couple failed to register their wedding at the Indian embassy in Italy, then their marriage will not be valid until the newlyweds register at Bandra Court in Mumbai.
Under Special Marriage Act, marriages need to be registered in India to make it valid/legal in the country to get its jurisdiction. Marriages performed overseas are considered valid in the country if they are registered with the Indian embassy or in India as per the norms.
