Korean boy band TVXQ are back in the spotlight after completing their military service for nearly two years.
The duo, composed of Yunho and Changmin, held their first press conference in Seoul on August 21 to update the media and fans on their plans for the year.
From Seoul, they flew to Tokyo for Japan leg of their "Asia Press Tour" and will be in Hong Kong on Tuesday for the same event.
Yunho enlisted in the Korean military on July 21, 2015 and served in the military band until he was discharged last April.
Changmin entered the Korean military in November 2015 and became a conscripted policeman under the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency. He finished his military service last August 18.
"I didn't know I would be standing in the spotlight this early after the discharge. I thought maybe the company would give me a couple of days but being in front of the media this early. I'm grateful," said Changmin, according to Yonhap News.
Yunho said, "We're happy that we've come back in good health and being able to keep that promise to fans. I'm pleased to say hello to our fans as TVXQ."
Next month, they will restart their career with "TVXQ Week." Yunho and Changmin will release their respective solo singles.
They will also hold a fan meet-and-greet on September 30 and October 1 at the Jamsil Sports Complex in Seoul.
In November, they will be going to Japan for their dome concert tour that will be held in five cities with 14 shows that are expected to draw about 650,000 fans.
After this, they are planning to release a new album next year.
"We thought releasing a new album for the fans as soon as possible was a good idea. But it later dawned on us that not disappointing the fans (with the record) since they've waited for it for so long was the priority," said Changmin.
The military service has changed their perspectives.
"We're going to talk to each other a lot. I believe that the real important beings in our lives are the ones that are next to us silently during our most difficult and painful days," Yunho said. "Changmin is definitely that kind of person to me. We will show our bromance chemistry."
