The Tela GBA emulator app is a by-product of community favourite GBA4iOS emulator app. While it is based on that platform, this new emulator app also offers support for Game Boy Advance (GBA), Game Boy (GB) and Game Boy Colour (GBC) ROMs.

Tela GBA sports a full Bluetooth controller support with the ability to put in place customer controller skins. It also supports Dropbox synchronisation for saved games, ROMs, Apple MFi controllers and event distribution which is holding a Pokémon Fire Red event throughout the month of December.

How to sideload Tela GBA emulator app

To proceed, here are concise steps on how to install the Tela GBA emulator app on your iOS 11 iPhone, iPad or iPod touch without needing to jailbreak it:

Step 1: Download the Cydia Impactor tool here if you don't have it yet. Choose the right version according to your machine's operating system. Once the download is done, extract the file and save it somewhere safe on your device.

Step 2: Download the Tela GBA IPA file here.

Step 3: You need to sideload the downloaded IPA file now. To do this, connect your iPhone or iPad to your Mac or PC using a USB cable. Make sure that an updated iTunes on your machine is necessary to complete this process.

Step 4: Go back to where you saved the extracted Cydia Impactor folder and launch the executable file.

Step 5: Once launched, choose the connected device from the drop-down menu.

Step 6: Drag and drop the downloaded Tela GBA IPA file onto the Cydia Impactor window.

Step 7: Enter your Apple ID developer account (either free or paid) and password to sideload the app. It is important to note that free developer accounts will expire after seven days so you will have to uninstall and then reinstall the app along the way.

Step 8: A warning window will pop up advising that any existing Apple Developer certificate will be revoked and replaced. Just select OK to continue.

Step 9: Cydia Impactor will do the rest of the job, from fetching the relevant certificates from Apple's developer portal to digitally signing the IPA to validate it.

Step 10: Once notified that Tela GBA has been sideloaded, proceed to Settings > General > Profile & Device Management. Find the profile associated with the Tela GBA emulator app. Tap on it and Trust the certificate to allow it to run.

You can now enjoy your Tela GBA emulator app on your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch running iOS 11!
