Former Korean girl group f(x) member Sulli was severely criticized again for her Instagram post. This time, netizens admonished the actress for posting a video of a live eel being grilled. As it was being cooked, she was heard in the video saying, "Save me, save me."
After receiving a barrage of criticisms, she deleted the video and uploaded a photo of cooked eel and wrote, "Don't eat your eel. Sticks tongue out."
Eel is a favorite food among Koreans but netizens pointed out that it was cruel for Sulli to post the video that showed the live eel being cooked.
"Please test her for drugs," one netizen commented on a news story about the post on Korean portal Nate, according to Netizen Buzz, an English blog which translates comments of Koreans about entertainment stories. Another wrote, "This actually makes me mad, she is sick in the head."
"People, there is a very big difference between simply cooking and eating an eel and seeing a dying eel and thinking it's funny enough to ridicule like this... I'm someone who doesn't give a crap whether Sulli wears her bra on her head or whatever else she does but I got goosebumps when I saw this video. Maybe that's why she's so bad at acting... she fails to be able to relate and empathize with others," one Korean posted.
Other negative comments include "I've never seen anyone keep the head on the eel while grilling it... that's so cruel," "She's seriously a psychopath" and "This is cruel... human beings are so cruel.. seriously."
Sulli was previously the target of criticisms for posting photos of her wearing revealing clothes including those where she's not wearing a bra.
But others are defending her posts, saying that Sulli was just being true to herself and brave without any inhibition.
She is starring in the movie "Real" with actor Kim Soo Hyun, Sung Dong-il and Lee Sung-min that will be released in South Korea on June 28. The movie is generating buzz as it will include Sulli's explicit scenes.
