JTBC's 'Strong Woman Do Bong Soon' ended recently, maintaining consistency in viewership ratings with an impressive 8.96 percent rating. The drama which began with the exploits of the sweet but extremely powerful woman Do Bong Soon, gradually shifted towards a slightly more romantic tone with love blooming between Park Hyung-sik and Park Bo-young's characters. Now, the director of the drama has thanked the two actors for the drama's success.

Lee Hyung-min, who directed 'Strong Woman Do Bong Soon' for JTBC network, appeared for an interview with K-pop website Soompi. He said though he knew the drama would do well, he was surprised to find that it became so popular with viewers, more so than anyone imagined. For this, the director thanked the two leads Park Bo-young and Park Hyung-sik.

"I'm so grateful to both of them. I'm not trying to play favourites, but I'm especially grateful to Park Bo Young. I hope that 'Strong Woman Do Bong Soon' becomes a memorable production in her filmography," Lee Hyung-min expressed his gratitude towards the 'Oh My Ghostess' actor. Park Bo-young is the most experienced actor among the three leads and the show is a success because of her performance, there's no doubt about it.

As regards Park Hyung-sik, the director talked about how it was a good learning curve for the actor. "For Park Hyung Sik, I hope the drama was a valuable experience that helps him on his path to showing who he truly is as an actor," adding, "Park Hyung Sik had so much fun and told me it was a new experience for him."

Hyung-min also revealed how dedicated Park Hyung-sik was in taking his role seriously and getting his scenes right and said, "Though it's hard to always discuss a scene before filming it, Park Hyung Sik made sure to go over everything he wanted to. I told him to try everything he wanted to do for any given scene. I told him to say and do anything that he felt his character would do, and he told me that was a new experience for him."

Indeed, watching the relationship between Ahn Min-hyuk and Do Bong-soon progress was wonderful. Seeing them bicker, the jealousies involved initially with Ji Soo's Guk-du were made memorable through the honest performances from the three leads.

The supporting actors also helped the drama a lot and the director made sure to thank them as well. "Kim Won Hae said he enjoyed his time on set. Jeon Suk Ho and Shim Hye Jin did so well too. Shim Hye Jin always did her best and had a lot of fun, and it made me happy to see that translate well when we were editing the drama. I hope it was a fun memory for everyone involved," he added.

JTBC's upcoming drama 'Man to Man' starring Park Hae-jin and Park Sung-woong will  replace'Strong Woman Do Bong Soon,' from April 21. The drama will be an action oriented buddy-comedy about a famous actor and his bodyguard. Watch a trailer for 'Man to Man' below.
