The teaser photo of Star Wars Episode 8: The Last Jedi was released online on January 23. It revealed the premiere month of the movie, shed light on the plot but what is still not known is whether Carrie Fisher will be part of it or not.

Star Wars Episode 8: The Last Jedi is set to be released on December 15, according to the reports. Fans are eager to know what Luke Skywalker and Rey would be up to in the upcoming sequel and how do they defeat the First Order.

On the Facebook page of Star Wars, the news was shared on January 23 which the fans were eagerly waiting for. The excited fans commented on the post sharing their thoughts about the upcoming movie. A fan asked why is the title of the movie The Last Jedi?

Well, the question is, does the title actually indicate that Luke Skywalker will die or is it just to stress that Luke Skywalker is the last Jedi of the galaxy? In the previous instalment of the movie, Star Wars Episode 7: The Force Awakens Luke Skywalker was hardly mentioned. However, Skywalker was shown in the final moments, at the end of the film.

Fans are eagerly waiting to see what will happen next and now that the title is confirmed that it will start right from where it was left in the previous instalment. Fans are also expecting some real Luke and Rey action in Star Wars Episode 8: The Last Jedi movie.

Many are expecting Rey to be the last Jedi, justifying the title of the upcoming film. Rumours about Luke losing his life to defeat the First Order are also circulating. Moreover, in 2016, Mark Hamill, during a conversation with The Hollywood Reporter, said: "I finish Episode 8, and then I'm out of work."

The statement of Mark can mean that Luke Skywalker will die in the upcoming film and may be Rey is left as the "last Jedi."
