New Star Wars: Battlefront 2 footage has been released yesterday into the wild via YouTube, and it shows what seemed to be the upcoming title's gameplay with three characters in action.

Before Electronic Arts (EA) could even showcase Star Wars: Battlefront 2 at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) 2017 in Los Angeles, a footage showing Darth Maul, Boba Fett, and Rey has just been leaked on YouTube. The video was removed a few minutes after EA reported it, but the public managed to get a glimpse of the new Star Wars sequel.

The 12-minute footage showed off the three characters in action at the Naboo palace, moving from there down to nearby streets from The Phantom Menace. Darth Maul, Boba Fett, and Rey made their way to the hallways while they try to take down droids and clone troopers. This seems to corroborate with previous reports suggesting that four focal heroes will take the centre stage in the new Star Wars title where two of them are Darth Maul and Rey.

The Verge notes, "The footage is fast-paced and really incredible to watch. There's a real thrill following Darth Maul with his double-bladed lightsaber as he cuts down everyone he comes across. It also looks like you can populate a small group of helper NPCs to follow you around".

Right off the bat, the footage brandished the EA logo. This is an affirmation that the clip leaked was genuine; however, no one can tell as of now where it came from. When it was taken down from YouTube upon EA's request, the uploader of the clip stressed out that it was not acquired by theft. In fact, the tag said "pre-alpha build".

Meanwhile, earlier reports have confirmed that Naboo N-1 Starfighters will be flyable in the sequel. This vehicle was heavily used in Star Wars Episode 1 wherein young Anakin Skywalker tried to extinguish the Droid Control ship above Naboo.
