T-ara's wish to release their new album with all the six members is not happening. Soyeon and Boram have decided not to join Hyomin, Eunjung, Qri and Jiyeon in the comeback after their contracts with MBK Entertainment expire on May 15. The remaining four members have decided to extend their exclusive contracts until the end of the year.

Originally, it was announced that T-ara will release their final album as a complete group on May 17 but it was pushed back to June 1. However, it was reported that negotiations between Soyeon and Boram and MBK Entertainment fell through and only the four remaining members will be in the album.

As a result, the four members will record the songs in the album again as MBK cannot use the parts of Soyeon and Boram. The release of the album will be pushed back again to the last week of June.

In addition, a planned reality TV show for the six members was cancelled because of Soyeon and Boram's decision to back out of participating in the album and its promotion.

T-ara was scheduled to record the reality show at the end of the month. The concept was to get them together and travel in a camper trailer for four days and three nights to look back over the past nine years since their debut.

"Members of T-ara agreed to shoot at the end of the month but decided to drop out of the activity and the reality TV shoot was canceled," according to the agency.

T-ara debuted in 2009 with the single "Lie" followed by their first studio album "Absolute First Album" released in the same year.

However, allegations in 2012 that they bullied Hwayoung when she was still in the group affected T-ara's image and popularity in South Korea. Since then, T-ara struggled to dispel the accusations and they focused on promoting overseas.

T-ara has won many awards since 2009 including the Newcomer Award and Digital Bonsang at the Golden Disk Awards, Bonsang Award in 2010 and 2012 at the Melon Music Awards and K-pop Most Popular Artist of the Year at the 2017 YinYue Tai V-Chart Awards.
