Song Joong Ki has revealed why he is in a rush to marry Song Hye Kyo. The couple shocked their fans around the world by confirming their relationship recently, and the two announced that they will tie the knot on October 31.
During an interview, he gushed about his wife-to-be. He was quoted as saying in Soompi: "I definitely have to get married at some point, and I just think some things are more important than popularity. The biggest reason is because it's Song Hye Kyo. Since it's Song Hye Kyo, I figured it'd be great to spend the rest of my life with her."
"Ever since I was young, I wasn't really planning on getting married at a late age. Things really fell into place," he added.
The duo shot to fame after starring in Descendants of the Sun. In the hit drama, Joong Ki plays the lead role as Captain Yoo Shi Jin, and Hye Kyo reprises the role of doctor named Kang Mo-Yeon.
Meanwhile, during an interview, the Running Man star's father talked about their wedding. He said, as quoted by Soompi: "[Song Joong Ki] is at the best age to get married so I'm glad he's engaged. As parents, we've decided to respect our son's decision. People were saying I was against their marriage, but that's a misunderstanding."
He added: "Now that my son will be having a stable family after marriage, I hope he works even harder to become an actor who can also be responsible for his household. I think my son will be able to achieve that."
