This may come as a shock to many fans of the SongSong couple, but the Descendants of the Sun star Song Hye-kyo has revealed that she is like a sister to her co-star Song Joong-ki, not a lover. In the same interview, Hye-kyo also revealed her thoughts on marriage and the future.

As noted by website Soompi, during her interview with W Korea magazine, Song Hye-kyo revealed that even though she is close to both Song Joong-ki and Yoo Ah-in, they are more like her little brothers than potential lovers. The 35-year old actress was quoted as saying: "However, these days I'm close to my labelmate Yoo Ah In and Song Joong Ki, who I acted in a drama with, but to them, wouldn't I just be an older sister who likes to treat them to food?"

Song Hye-kyo basically echoed the statement made earlier by the Descendants of the Sun director of photography Kim Si-hyeong, that Song Joong-ki is more of a brother to the actress. He said at that time: "Joong Ki sometimes calls her senior and sometimes calls her sister. The couple look more like good friends."

Song Hye-kyo at 35, is four years older than Song Joong-ki. However, the age gap isn't a real issue as many female celebrities marry younger men. Rain's marriage to Kim Tae-hee, who is around two years older than the actor, is a case in point.

However, Sonh Hye-kyo admitted that from an audience perspective, she can see why fans want Song Joong-ki to be her real-life husband. Hye-kyo told W Korea: "I tried watching the drama from the audience's perspective and Captain Shi Jin is definitely attractive — some of his lines also made me feel fluttery."

However, she pointed out that it was the effort of the production team of the drama that successfully creates the illusion of romance for the audiences.

Song Hye-kyo also said that she does want to get married but finding the right partner is becoming difficult as she grows older. She said: "I also think I should get married. I used to think it was easy, but it's getting harder and harder because the people I can date are limited, while my expectations are becoming more specific. When I hear stories from married people around me, my fantasies about marriage fade away little by little."

Hye-kyo also talked about the actresses she wants to work with. She said: "I've vaguely imagined acting with a bunch of women, and two people who were always in that picture were seniors Jeon Do Yeon and Kim Hye Soo. I'm very curious to know how they act on set, and I want to find out how they will influence my acting when I'm with them."

She further expressed desire to work with fellow South Korean actresses, Jun Ji-hyun and Son Ye-jin. As noted by Soompi, Song Hye-kyo named Choi Ji-woo and Kim Hee-sun as the seniors who treated her well in the industry. She also revealed that she couldn't get close to a lot of actresses because of the the need to compete and prove oneself better. She said: "I wanted to get close to a lot of actresses at the time, but in your twenties you end up in a fierce competition without even meaning to. That creates a difficult atmosphere to make friends. Now that I'm in my thirties, I feel like the competition was all for nothing and I want to find people close to my age that I can become good colleagues with."

Song Hye-kyo will be soon seen in the film Ships Passing in the Night, directed by Sunwoo Park. It is currently in pre-production stage.
