Singtel Music, the popular streaming music service in Singapore, has now added TIDAL as a subscription. Singtel customers can now stream their music collection with the lossless audio streaming service through HiFi and Premium subscriptions for $15.90 and $7.90 per month.

TIDAL, like Spotify, KKbox, Saavn and AMPed, is ad-free and customers can use it offline without using up mobile data, as per the website. The subscription contract will last 12 months. Singtel customers now have five different attractive subscription services to choose from.

As reported by Singapore Business Review (SBR), Diana Chen, Vice President of Mobile Marketing, Consumer Singapore, Singtel, said: "With the addition of Saavn in October and TIDAL now, Singtel Music customers have even more choices for their listening pleasure. We're not stopping here and will continue adding quality music content to offer the best music streaming experience at great prices, without the data charges."

TIDAL is co-owned by American rapper Jay Z, his wife and Singer Beyoncé, as well as Kanye West, among others. The music streaming giant offers lossless audio and high definition music videos and has over 42 million songs in its collection, as per SBR. TIDAL also offers a huge selection of music videos, roughly about 140,000, reports The Straits Times Singapore.

It also features exclusive albums like Beyoncé's 'Lemonade' and 'Daddy Lessons' as well as Rihanna's 'Anti.' Other exclusive content include J.Cole's 'Eyez,' James Vincent McMorrow's 'Get Low' and 'We Move.'

Diana Chen also added that customers "can stream or download hours upon hours of music entertainment, anytime and anywhere, with zero local data charges. TIDAL Premium customers will have access to 320kbps listening while TIDAL HIFI customers will enjoy lossless audio with a bit rate of 1411kbps."

Singtel Music is the first ever music streaming service in Singapore, launched in February this year, to offer streaming music without local data charges. However, the services are only available postpaid, to customers who have a Singtel network connection on their mobile phones.

It remains to be seen how TIDAL holds against other subscription services on Singtel. As per a Bloomberg article, TIDAL had only about 4.2 million subscribers by May 2016, much less than the 100 million subscribers of Spotify.
