SBS's variety show 'Running Man' is going through a very exciting phase; in the form of punishments to members no less. After Lee Kwang-soo and Jun So-min received their punishment in Jakarta by riding wooden cable cars over a wild sea, it was Song Ji-hyo's turn to face her fears. Yoo Jae-suk wasn't spared either.
SBS released a couple of clips on its official Youtube channel, from the latest episode of 'Running Man' that aired on October 8. One of them featured Song Ji-hyo having to face punishment by getting strapped to a big swing, after losing a game. Swings are not only dangerous, going on them can be a really scary experience for the participant. Song Ji-hyo seemed mortally frightened. However, a Hallyu star helped her relax and find some strength.

That Hallyu star was none other than 'Moonlight Drawn by Clouds' actor Park Bo-gum. No, he wasn't physically present there to encourage Song Ji-hyo. It was Yoo Jae-suk who saw Ji-hyo was terrified and told her that Park Bo-gum had been on this spot and taken the swing too, as noted by Allkpop. This appeared to light her face up and make her feel a bit stronger.
However, the fact that Ji-hyo was pulled very high off the ground by pulleys made her frightened once again and she was heard screaming, looking at the deadly drop below. Her guide was strapped alongside with her; holding onto her arm but it didn't comfort her in the slightest. In fact, her 'Running Man' mates, Lee Kwang-soo, Yoo Jae-suk, HaHa, Yang Se-chan, Kim Jong-kook and Ji Suk-jin also became very afraid. Yoo Jae-suk couldn't take the tension anymore and dropped to his knees, clutching Yang Se-chan's palms.
As the countdown ended, the swing suddenly dropped at an immense speed to the ground below, then again lifted the riders above the ground; above the huge lake at the filming site. All the while, Song Ji-hyo was screaming and on the ground below, Lee Kwang-soo cupped his hands over his mouth. Song Ji-hyo's guide, strapped beside her was having fun of course; possibly from having done this many times before.
In the same episode, Yoo Jae-suk received a punishment of his own, all because of Yang Se-chan. As noted by website Soompi, the cast members of 'Running man' had to watch clips from Lee Kwang-soo and Jun So-min's Jakarta punishment trip. They also had to guess in a quiz that followed, whether the Traitor Couple were telling the truth. Two members, who came last, would receive a punishment in a rest stop on the road to Seoul.
Yang Se-chan unfortunately had the wrong answer to four consecutive questions. To make things even more interesting, Se-chan chose Yoo Jae-suk to accompany him in receiving the punishment. At the rest stop, they played game of chance roulette. Yoo Jae-suk and Yang Se-chan both waited under two water containers above their heads.
As the disk came to a stop on Yoo Jae-suk's name, the valve opened and the "Nation's MC" was completely drenched. He slipped and fell down on the ground with the force of the water but immediately got up and finished the segment like a true MC would.
The next episode of 'Running Man' airs on October 15 at 4.50 p.m. KST on SBS.
