Robert Pattinson has finally opened up about his thoughts on President Donald Trump's tweets about his former girlfriend Kristen Stewart cheating on him. In 2012, the British actor ended his relationship with the actress after it was confirmed that she had an affair with British director Rupert Sanders.
Stewart and Sanders, who worked together on Snow White And The Huntsman, were photographed kissing in Hollywood hills.
After the news broke out, Trump tweeted: "Robert Pattinson should not take back Kristen Stewart. She cheated on him like a dog & will do it again–just watch. He can do much better!"
Ignoring these deragatory comments, the pair patched up differences and started dating again and were spotted together at the Coachella Music Festival in 2013. However, the two broke up in May 2013 after Pattinson pulled out of his 27th birthday celebrations planned by Stewart.
During an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Pattinson said: "I think there's so many different levels of it. Your identity exists on many different planes at the same time and they all can be quite different from each other. When he said that, it didn't really mean anything."
"But I guess now I'm sort of thinking, like, 'Well, I guess that is related to me.' But how does that fit in with all the other things going on in my life? And sometimes you think, 'Can I use this in my acting? Or should I be putting it away.' It's kind of interesting, I guess. I don't know — this could be why people get annoyed with me," he added.
Pattinson has moved on from the drama, and is currently dating FKA twigs. Meanwhile, Stewart has come out as lesbian.
