At least 57 killed in deadly Portugal forest fire

At least 57 people died in a forest fire in central Portugal. Some of them were driving when they got caught in the blaze making it the deadliest forest fire in Portugal in decades. 59 more people including several firefighters were injured and two are still missing. Firefighters have not yet managed to bring the fire under control. Jun 18, 2017

Explosion in Colombian shopping centre toilet kills 3

An explosion in a Bogota shopping centre has killed three women and wounded nine others. A device detonated in a toilet bowl in a restroom in the upscale Andino shopping area. One of the victims was a 23-year-old French woman who volunteered in a poor area of Bogota. The shopping centre was busy with people shopping for Fathers Day gifts. 58 people missing presumed dead in Grenfell Tower fire, police confirms

At least 58 people were killed in the fire that destroyed Grenfell Tower in Kensington, Metropolitan Police Commander Stuart Cundy told reporters. If confirmed this would make the Grenfell fire the deadliest in Britains history since World War II. Cundy also warned that the number of victims may still increase since some people may not have been reported missing yet. Jun 18, 2017

Queen Elizabeth II celebrated her 91st birthday on Saturday but Prince George was less than impressed to be up on the balcony of Buckingham Palace again. The three-year-old seemed bored at the beginning of the Royal Air Force display but he cheered up on the first sight of the fly-past. Maybe the young prince was struggling in the heat. Guardsman collapses during Queens birthday celebrations

The heat at the Queens Trooping the Colour ceremony on June 17 was too much for a guardsman. He fainted during the performance at Horse Guards parade with the Royal Family and thousands of spectators watching. Five Guardsmen in total fainted during the ceremony and had to be stretchered off while the others marched on. Jun 17, 2017

Massive sea lion casually blocks traffic in middle of Chilean town

A massive sea lion took a break in the middle of the road in a seaside town in Chile. The animal appeared completely relaxed as cars slowly drove around it. According to Rodrigo Toro, who filmed the video, sea lions occasionally venture into town in search for food. Jun 17, 2017

Shirley Bowes is a resident at Twelve Oaks, a Senior Living Community in Mt. Airy, North Carolina. Shirley suffers from dementia but to give her a sense of purpose, staff at the home told her she is actually a Twelve Oaks employee. Isis claims Attack In Jerusalem After Policewoman Is Stabbed To Death

An Israel border policewoman has been killed in a shooting and stabbing attack. Three Palestinians attacked police officers at two different scenes in Jerusalem. All three were killed by Israeli security forces. Both Hamas and Isis claimed responsibility for the attacks. US Navy destroyer collides with merchant vessel off Japan

A US Navy destroyer has collided with a merchant vessel three times its size near Japan. Seven crew members are missing and three were injured on the destroyer during the crash at 2.30am. The injured crew members were medically evacuated and are in stable condition. The US ship flooded but is not in danger of sinking. The Philippine-flagged merchant vessel sustained minimal damage.
