South Korean girl group member Irene is all set to step into the world of Korean drama. The 25-year-old will be seen showcasing her acting skills in the upcoming web series titled 'The Female Employees of a Game Company'.
The brand new web show, which is scheduled to air in May, will mark Irene's first stint in acting. Apart from mesmerizing her fans with rocking music and smashing performances as Red Velvet member, the Daegu-born actress has also been playing host to KBS's sensational show , Music Bank, along Park B0-gum.
As per reports, Irene has been trying to get into acting from quite some time. The singer, supposedly auditioned for tvN's show Answer me 1988, for the supporting cast last year according to Koalas . But things didn't work out well for Irene, and she lost the opportunity.
Forthcoming drama "The Female Employees of a Game Company" is a webtoon adaptation. The web series is based on the story of three girls who works at a game company, and wants to achieve through a game. Irene will be playing the female lead, named, "Areum".
The shooting of the series has already been completed, as per the reports. Irene will share the screen with Lee Minji and Lee Jiyeon.
