Ranbir Kapoor has revealed that Indian film director/producer Karan Johar is very fond of Pakistani actor Fawad Khan. The trio worked together for the 2016 film, Ae Dil Hai Mushkil. The movie also has Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Anushka Sharma in lead roles.
During a podcast with the comedy group, All India Bakchod, the 34-year-old actor talked about his shooting experience. He joked: "Karan is absolutely obsessed with Fawad Khan. I remember during the shooting of Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, me and Anushka were totally ignored by Karan, who used to be completely focused on Fawad, his costumes, the length of his stubble, the style of his hair... everything!"
However, Johar has also previously admitted that he is little partial with his actor choices. In a chat session with Neha Dhupia, the Koffee with Karan host was asked who was his favourite of the two actors in Ae Dil Hai Mushkil. He replied: "I am going to go with Fawad. He's the new novelty and Ranbir knows I am going to go with Fawad."
Johar has always shied away from talking about his sexuality. However, in his biography, An Unsuitable Boy, he said: "Karan Johar will not say the three words that possibly everybody knows about me. Everybody knows what my sexual orientation is. I don't need to scream it out. If I need to spell it out, I won't only because I live in a country where I could possibly be jailed for saying this. Which is why I Karan Johar will not say the three words that possibly everybody knows about me."
