Pokémon GO Safari Zone: New schedule of events in Europe

The Pokémon GO Safari Zone series of events in Europe has been moved later than its original dates. Game developer Niantic has announced that the postponement is aimed at providing players in the region the finest gaming experience.

Niantic chief executive John Hanke said some of the scheduled dates for Safari Zone, Pokémon GO's first-anniversary event in Europe, were postponed "to guarantee the best possible gameplay experience for European trainers."

This special summer event in Europe will take place in select Unibail-Rodamco shopping malls. Regional Pokémon from across the globe will be featured throughout the event. At the event, Pokémon GO trainers get the unique chance to catch various Pokémon in special zones that include those that are originally found in Kanto and Johto regions.

Some creatures not endemic in Europe will also be catchable for the first time, including Tauros (North America), Kangakshan (Australia), Farfetch'd (Japan), Corsola (Tropics), and Heracross (Latin America), among many others. However, this will only happen for "a brief time", according to Hanke. On top of that, Raid Bosses will also be making appearances to test trainers in teams.

Niantic vowed to deliver glitch-free events in Europe, learning from the Pokémon GO Fest fiasco in Chicago on 22 July. Apart from the European leg, Pokémon GO is also headed to Yokohama, Japan on 14 August in view of the game's anniversary event.
