Pokemon Go fans were seen getting bored of the mobile game recently as the craze slowly died down. But,here is good news for all of you who want to take up new Pokemon challenges in the next few months.
The Pokemon Research Exhibition will open on Saturday at the S.E.A Aquarium in Resorts World Sentosa (RWS) for all its fans to explore new challenges.
Last year, it started in Japan and it is the first installment outside Japan. The exhibition will remain open from 10 am to 7 pm daily till Jan 2 next year.
You don't have to be a Pokemon master to play this game. Visitors who are not familiar with Pokemon can also play this game. The clues, reference guides and images of Pokemon characters will be provided inside the venue.
The participant will have to figure out the Pokemon character inside the Pokeball which is used in Pokemon games to catch critters. Participants can pick up those Pokeballs at the entrance of the exhibition.
There are three types of Pokeballs, each representing a different difficulty level, to pick from: a regular ball (easy), a Great Ball (medium), and an Ultra Ball (hard).
Once you are done with choosing your ball, you have to go to one of eight different machines which are designed to reveal each Pokemon critter's distinctive traits, such as its silhouette, footprint and cry. Each person can use up to four machines for help.
There are some machines in the exhibition which are more interactive than the others. For example: The outline shooter will require you to run on the spot. The more you run in a given time frame, the more of the character's outline is revealed.
While, another machine, which is named as the silhouette shooter, will ask you to turn a dial and snap an image of the character's silhouette within a given time frame.
You have to guess the Pokemon character inside your Pokeball using the clues generated by the machines.
Participants who select the regular or Great balls can refer to an activity leaflet showing the names and images of possible characters contained in the balls. People who will select the Ultra Ball will have fewer details in their corresponding leaflets.
However, they can refer to a a giant Pokedex wall to help them in the identification process. A Pokedex wall is an index of more than 700 Pokemon characters along with their names and images.
A RWS spokesman said the Japanese version of the exhibition has drawn "hundreds of thousands" of visitors and they are also looking forward to the event in Singapore.
"I look forward to trying out the hardest level, to see if I can correctly guess the Pokemon character," Jacqueline Tan, a 19-year-old avid Pokemon Go player told The Straits Times.
