Good news for the gamers out there. Reportedly, Nintendo is now including a new security feature to its online accounts in order to make the accounts safer than before. With this new feature's integration, users will be allowed to enable two-factor authentication for their online accounts to prevent unauthorized access, reported The Verge.

In order to enable the authentication system, users will have to download Google Authenticator, which will give them a code while logging in.

This recent move by Nintendo is a long overdue. Sony has already implemented two-factor authentication last year to its online accounts following a number of hacks, which compromised the private details of the users. Apart from Sony, other companies, such as Steam and Microsoft, have also integrated the security system years ago.

While two-factor authentication is not full-proof, it still adds an extra layer of security to the online accounts. It verifies a login attempt with a phone or an e-mail.
