Singer Nam Tae Hyun, former member of boy band WINNER, has been swept up in a dating controversy again.
The 23-year-old singer and musician has denied that he is dating fellow singer Son Dam Bi, 34, after a video of them together was uploaded online. They used an app to record a video together that showed the Son Dam Bi hugging Nam Tae Hyun. Their closeness became the subject of online talks as many suspected that they are dating and several news articles came out about the video.
Nam Tae Hyun shot down the dating rumour and apologized, saying, "I looked up my name after someone contacted me, but I think there was a misunderstanding stemming from a video I shot with a close friend using a popular app. I am sorry."
According to him, "It's a video with an affectionate atmosphere that people could easily misinterpret, but the [filters] unique to the app would not show up if our faces were apart. That's why we shot [the video] with our faces close together, so that the bunny filter would show up on both of us."
He said they are good friends, explaining that "I am just close with her; we are not a couple by any means. We really are not. I apologize to my fans once more. I think it's perfectly understandable that it was misinterpreted. I am sorry. We are most definitely not a couple."
Nam Tae Hyun was previously linked to actress Jung Rye Won after he visited the set of her movie "Gate."
But the actress' agency denied it, saying, "Son Dam Bi sent a coffee truck to the set after hearing that the filming for 'Gate' was coming to an end. Son Dam Bi, Nam Tae Hyun, and a few other acquaintances visited the set together. It is not true that Nam Tae Hyun and Jung Ryeo Won are dating. They only shared a few meals together and were even joined by their friends."
