Indian film industry had produced some unforgettable sports movies over the years. While the list includes movies like Oscar-nominated 'Lagaan: Once Upon a Time in India', 'Chakde! India', 'M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story', there is another movie which could bring the flavour of India's golden era. 

The shooting for upcoming sports move named "Gold", directed by Reema Kagti has finally concluded, which will showcase famous Indian actor Akshay Kumar in a lead role. 

The 50-year-old actor Akshay has shared a video of himself jumping in joy on December 10, Sunday with a caption stating "A good beginning makes a good ending... True story. It's a wrap for 'Gold', an incredible journey with a great team. See you at the movies."

The film is about India's first Olympic medal win as a free nation in 1948 at the 14th Olympic Games at London. It will release on Independence Day in 2018.

"Gold" is a sports drama produced by Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar under the banner Excel Entertainment. Apart from Akshay this movie will also have the Bollywood debutant actress Mouni Roy and will feature Amit Sadh in a pivotal role. There are some English actors such as Andrew Havill, Craig Thomas Lambert, Jason Redshaw and Richard Cunningham, who will be playing major roles in the movie.
